Four decades of changing lives and systems
Scott founded Circles USA, a national organization dedicated to helping communities reduce poverty. His work has brought together people from different backgrounds to understand complex challenges, build meaningful relationships, and create practical solutions. Thousands of people have participated in programs he has designed.
His work is in communities across the US and parts of Canada, and has been featured on the CBS Evening News, TEDx, CNN, NPR, PBS, The Stanford Social Innovation Review, Philanthropy Magazine, and The Huffington Post.
Why the Happiness Network?
Over the years, Scott came to believe that lasting change requires both personal growth and better systems. People need enough money, meaning, and friends—and communities need structures that help everyone thrive.
He created The Happiness Network to turn those ideas into practical conversations, tools, workshops, and groups that people can use in their own lives and communities.
Beyond the work
Scott is also a musician, songwriter, storyteller, and occasional teller of Benji jokes. He believes humor, creativity, friendship, and moments of awe are not distractions from meaningful change. They are part of what makes change possible.
